American Legion Auxiliary – Unit 166

American Legion Auxiliary Unit 166 partners with Post 166 to serve veterans, military families, and our Goose Creek community. Our members lead hands-on projects like the Poppy Program, Girls State, scholarships, holiday and homecoming support, meal trains, and volunteer teams for Post events and ceremonies. Whether you can help once a month or every week, there is a place for you to serve, learn, and lead.

Who can join
Membership in the American Legion Auxiliary is open to:

  • Grandmothers, mothers, sisters, spouses, and direct or adopted female descendants of members of The American Legion.
  • Grandmothers, mothers, sisters, spouses, and direct or adopted female descendants of veterans who served on active duty during either World War I or any time after December 7, 1941, and who died in the line of duty or after an honorable discharge.
  • Women who are eligible for membership in The American Legion based on their own service.
  • Spouses may be male or female. Male spouses are eligible for Auxiliary membership.

Note: A woman who is eligible for The American Legion may join the Auxiliary whether or not she is a Legion member. If family members or a spouse wish to join the Auxiliary through her service, she must first join The American Legion so her eligibility can be verified.
