Honor Guard
Post 166’s Honor Guard is a volunteer team that renders military funeral honors, presents the colors at civic and patriotic events, and helps our community remember and respect the flag. Each year we support Memorial Day observances in Goose Creek with a wreath-laying, a rifle salute, and the playing of Taps. We also participate in Wreaths Across America and other remembrance ceremonies with our Legion Family and local partners. Beyond ceremonies, our members visit local schools to teach flag etiquette, including how to properly raise, lower, and fold the United States and South Carolina flags. The team has been recognized by the American Legion Department of South Carolina for service to veterans and our community.
